Nice! Wilshire and 7th together form the spine of City West. Bridging the gap between Downtown and MacArthur Park starts with densifying this spinal cord, preferably with projects of this caliber.

This is a great project, great building. Id love to see LA start to do something with the road sections. If there was even a median landscaped or otherwise it would close down the feel of to much width for pedestrian friendliness. Traffic is the big issue..

Second Look at Proposed City West Tower

Quote:
An environmental report published by the Los Angeles Department of City Planning (LADCP) has unveiled new details about the Seven, a residential tower proposed in Downtown's City West neighborhood.

According to the LADCP document, Pasadena-based Pangea Development intends to build its proposed mixed-use complex at the corner of 7th Street and Lucas Avenue, replacing the two-story City Center Motel. The proposed development would consist of a 26-story tower offering 241 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, nearly 7,300 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a six-level, 341-car parking garage. Other proposed features include an outdoor pool and spa deck and a community room.

Pasadena-based American General Design, the architecture firm tasked with crafting the look and feel of development, employs materials such as corrugated metal, tinted glass and concrete in the design of the 278-foot tower. Despite its modern appearance, the project may also give a nod to its past: renderings indicate that the City Center Motel's Googie-style blade sign may be incorporated into the new development's podium.

Currently, plans call for a 24-month construction timeline, which completion expected in mid-2019.
