Yes it is a damn nice improvement over the recent past . My dream for East Market will probably not come to pass
for many years but I guess there is no time like the present to start wishing for it ......

Yes indeed. I didn’t get a picture but they’re starting the landscaping both out front along market as well as between buildings. it is looking really awesome as it comes together.

If someone will be in the area and can get a few shots of the landscaping around the streets and buildings of this project, that will be great. Good landscaping work is always needed in our concrete jungle. It really enhances a project, at the street level, when done right!

Both planters on market have been filled with soil, shrubs and trees and trees have finally been planted in between the buildings. It appears TJ Maxx is going to open very soon. Entire Market st sidewalk is finally passable for first time since 2014.

Little Baby's opened on Friday.
Iron Hill opens 9/13
TJ Maxx opens 9/20
City Fitness also supposed to open this month.
District Taco not far behind.
Wawa probably after that.

Starting to come into its own! Curious to see what else they'll be able to grab for the remaining retail spaces. Other than the previously announced Federal Donuts going into the Girard bldg after renovations in 2019, the only other rumor I've heard is La Colombe fitting in there somewhere. Feels like Home Goods would naturally want to grab the other half of that upper level next to TJ's. It's a tough size in that it's too massive for most restaurants, but too small for most big boxes wanting to land downtown. We shall see. The energy and vision of the place are palpable now when you walk by.

Does that remind anyone else of that scene from Avengers where they have the big party and everyone tries to lift Thor's hammer? Cause that's what that room reminds me of.

On another side note, remember that really freaky Little Baby's commercial?

Just walked through here. Looks really really great. Way more construction than I anticipated still happening even though the sidewalks are now open.

RE The Fashion District/Gallery. I'll be the first to admit that it's looking better in person. The large metal overhangs help break up the absurd facades enough to kind of make it work.

Unfortunately, my gut tells me that they are going to really skimp out on the digital signage. I think the renderings show something like 12 digital boards, but where some of them are supposed to be - there's just simply nothing on the facade right now to indicate that they will actually be there. No wiring, no brackets, just clean, finished facade.

^^^^^^^

I think the old expression is something like ... " you can please some of the people some of the time " etc. etc .

Which brings me to my opinion ..... I am so happy these two high rise help dress up East Market , I pick what is
there over what was there . a gazillion time .....

So proud of this project. Very pleased I was able to get it done. It isn't just for me, or you, but ALL Philadelphians.
