My apologies, I could have been less mouthy. I was in a bad mood from reading negative comments about MLS coming to Austin. We seriously need a pro team of something to keep me entertained. My alma mater is not UT.

A Gensler architect posted a picture of 600 Guad, saying something to the tune of "look at this nice-looking building, it will make downtown Austin better."

Lots of people (including me, and other forum members) follow him on instagram, and may or may not have commented.

One person, whom I can't imagine is a member of this forum, posted a comment essentially bashing highrise developments, and lamenting the Austin of old. Obviously most of us think differently, and someone ended up getting in a 50-comment argument with this random guy about how if he doesn't like growth and development, he picked the wrong city to live in. The guy responds by saying, in essence, that development is bad and Austin needs to stop changing and growing. It devolves into namecalling and foolishness. Not sure if either of the people involved were forum members ( I doubt it), but it lead to the Gensler architect deleting his post.

Lynd Development is changing their name to Kairoi. They are based in San Antonio and were considering a move to Austin or Denver. But the City of San Antonio is offering incentives for them to move to downtown San Antonio. An S.A. Express-News article about the company mentions their biggest project which is apparently still in need of financing:

The phenomenal growth of Austin is fascinating to me, as back then I wondered what the city would look like in the far future. I think it is amazingly cool in spite of the terrible traffic.

Yes, it's a joint venture. Lincoln seems to have gotten more attention - maybe because they are the bigger developer of the two in Austin. But Lynd co-developed the Bowie with Endeavor. In that case Endeavor got most of the attention. Maybe Lynd (Kairoi) likes to stay low keyed.

If they are actively seeking financing this may be further along than I thought it was (looking for a tenant).
