Yikes 48-23. 1 goal on 91 shots.

I'd say cue the overpaying the backup story a few years from now. A very timely two
game run of goaltending when the rest of the team desperately needed it.

Jesus Christ, Demko is putting the team on his back.

I want one of your goalies once we move Freddie please.

The thing with Demko is (and like other back-ups) he can look very good for a couple of games, then collapse. He's playing the 2nd game in a back to back, so it is a very tall order for Demko to perform at the same level once again tonight. If they lose, I won't be very disappointed.

I am very satisfied with what the Canucks have accomplished, especially our young core. With Podkolzin coming (I think he will surprise most people) the Canucks will be a more complete team.

That series would have been over in 5 if not for Demko.

4 out of the 7 games were shutouts. Canucks were shutout 3 of those times. Yikes.

I'm sure Vegas will beat Dallas.

How sad that Vegas would make the finals in their 1st and 3rd year of existence. Even sadder if they won the Cup already.

Well justice prevailed and the better team won (finally).
But man, and it pains me to say this as a Flames fan, the future looks bright for Vancouver with all that young talent and what appears to be spectacular goal tending.

Hoping for a Vegas - TB final, would be fun hockey to watch.

Yup Canada's Team is now out of the playoffs .
The Canucks were probably ranked 5th in the country and went way further than anyone thought.

Vegas is outshooting and outplaying Dallas a lot like they outplayed Vancouver. Time of possession is really lopsided. Maybe Vegas is simply unstoppable.

Just realized that if Tampa makes the finals, it'll be the first time the Stanley Cup was played by both teams from non-traditional (ie. warmer climate) hockey markets - Tampa vs. Dallas/Vegas.

Dallas, while south, is a very serious hockey market.

Looking ahead: They are still targeting a 2020/2021 82 game season...

Interesting article. I am curious to see whether there will be fans in any buildings next season. On one hand you would think they could accommodate maybe 10 or 20 per cent of capacity, but then at the same time the cost of operating and cleaning the entire building basically (given that fans would have to be pretty spread out) would probably negate a lot of the financial benefits that come with that bit of ticket revenue.

For what it's worth, from a fan standpoint I barely even notice the absence of fans when watching hockey games. It's a lot different than baseball or just about anything else, really, where the absence of fans seems much more noticeable. The NHL has done a really good job with that.

^ my bank account is really loving this lack of fans scenario for the NHL next season.

Normally I would have paid for my share of seasons's tickets back in April.
