Country Playhouse is getting a new theatre space in the new development. The description I saw previously suggest they will have plenty of space for their operations when this is done.

Thanks to Triton[/QUOTE]

Are there any renderings of the Savoy building once the renovation is complete?

I never thought in a million years I'd see that building redeveloped and restored. Crazy.

Although I totally understand this is progress and something much nicer will rise there, I can't help feeling a little sad that the last vestige of the former wonderful Foley's is gone forever.

Progress marches on.

More renderings of TheDome courtesy of Mab from TheHaif. Also seems like TheDome is going to put on a light show.

From what I understand the building replacing Foley's/Macy's is only a 23-story office tower. Nothing overly special although the renderings are cool.

Yea so I've heard, also are you talking about the renderings on the 23 story tower or The Dome?

Renderings posted somewhere here on SSP? Hm... If you can't find them can you describe what the tower looks like?

they cant all be supertalls, heh. "Only" a 23 story tower.. with ground floor retail! lol, downtown desperately needs the retail. it will be interesting watching the plans for Dallas St. unfold. are you sure the renders you saw were of this tower and not one of the many other projects announced for Houston?

Some time ago a rendering was posted of a possible new department store on the lot. It seemed more like a renovation of the Macy's.

That was just an idea though not a concrete rendering.
