They will probably build out the steel for the Culture Shed Plaza/Fairview Market first, which they have started doing in the last couple of weeks. That's why that Bay Crane hydraulic crane is in the photo.

In addition they have to finish the west end of the Amtrak Gateway tunnel box concrete casing, which was captured last weekend in this 325ccr photo. I want to expand on my observations gleaned from other people's photos (I haven't been to the area since January). I think T-P is currently using the terra firma portion of the 15HY site for construction access from 30th St. Specifically, they are now using it to bring in equipment and materials to build the street-level Fairway Market/"High Line at the Rail Yards"-level Culture Shed Plaza.

Your photo from late May shows the wheeled hydraulic Bay Crane sitting in the 15HY area and the 325ccr photo from last weekend shows what this crane has erected. I don't recall if there are more recent predictions other than the Fairway Market is supposed to open in 2015, which I still can believe:

I'm not really too miffed to see this change at all.
While the corset design was ostensibly meant to make an architectural statement as to the novelty that HY itself as a whole is, it was just too busy visually for my comfort. It simply looked too incongruous for its stated purpose from a distance and---TBH---tacky close up.
As the Big Four of HY evolve, I see with this element change the nearest to what I see as a smooth visual flow among them, very much like WTC II, when completed, will also demonstrate.
That is unless the Murray and Thames St. contributions have anything to say.

Real or not, perceived miscommunication/misunderstanding/what have you or not, the "corset" thing doesn't need to be there...IMHO.

It makes what should be a beautiful transition from flat to undulating look chintzy.
