Random Tulsa

I decided to post a slew of random photos that I have taken around town over the past 15 years. Truly a random assortment. I may add to this thread from time to time as I take new pictures. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy.

I’ve got a soft spot for Tulsa. I lived there for a year in 90-91 (Memorial HS) and spent copious amounts of time exploring the city by bicycle. One of my favorite views is from 61st just east of Sheridan. You can see the whole city. I’d love to see a pano from the top of Warren Place.

Great tour! I’m always impressed by the quality of Tulsa’s building stock. I hope to visit someday.

What an excellent and comprehensive thread of Tulsa and its environs! Loved seeing some of Tulsa's older housing stock and leafy residential streets.

Good thing about Tulsa is only 5-6 existing tall buildings (and yes they are tall indeed) form a harmonious skyline with metropolitan vibes, who else can do that, name them?

Omaha? No, Omaha doesn't have metropolitan vibe. Neither does Little Rock.
Des Moines? Well...I...don't say.
Jacksonville? No, Jacksonville is the worst example of skyline as the biggest city in a state.
Mobile? Nah.
Louisville? Nashville? They are much more bigger.
The only similar case I can think of is Birmingham.

I know the spot you are talking about. There are great views of downtown, Warren Place, St Francis, and Turkey Mountain from there.

Tulsa does have a good skyline for a city it's size. Pretty much all thanks to the oil and gas industry.

Thanks for posting. This is great collection of city views! I stopped briefly in Tulsa last summer while driving across country. It had been 30 years since I had visited. Frankly, the downtown hadn’t changed much, but I still liked the density of the downtown core and love the great collection of Art Deco. The new riverside park on the city’s west side looked great too. I wish I had had more time to drive around, but your photos are a great substitute!

Nice collection of Tulsa pics, you get a good feel for the vibe there. Love the forested hills that surround the city and the beautiful old neighborhoods so close to downtown.

There is a good amount of infill happening which hopefully leads to some taller buildings being built downtown and along the riverfront.
