Is this the shorter of two towers which is under-construction?

Yes it is ! Apparently they're building this one first and then they'll start construction on the taller one

The title of the thread should be changed to reflect both towers.

Except the small one doesn't have a name.... Once completed it'll be a student dorm (pretty fancy dorm if you ask me)

Other current pictures of the smaller tower (student housing)

Cladding isn't all that great.... But let's face it, it's student housing... Budget wasn't exactly great either...

Vincent on pss-archi.eu

It seems final product won't turn out too bad. Like I said in the city compilations thread, it's not so cheap either.
€820 a month to lease a 16m2 studio in there. Pretty much as expensive as a fine neighborhood of the central city already.
And the location will only grow pricier and pricier without a doubt.

I think construction of the office tower will begin later this year, by early fall.
Latest rendering posted on SSC.

Precisely, my main concern is ground level. It's been such a mess that it's hard to figure out what exactly it will be like when you're not really familiar with the spot.
They're demolishing a bit of some goddamn express way as part of the site preparation stage.
The final thing is supposed to be pedestrian-friendly... Um, we'll just see in a couple of years when this whole stuff is complete.

There's a large squad of construction workers to show up on site within the coming weeks.
Construction of the actual skyscraper is impending.
100% offices as always so far here.

Overview of the ground.

Not too bad. They're gradually correcting the original mistake of totally segregating pedestrians from cars.

I can't even begin to imagine how many billion € it will take to really enhance the artificial ground of the district.
Pedestrians over, cars below, in gloomy tunnels. That was the bad idea by the 1950's/60's urban planners.
Bah, it's wealthy and development-friendly enough to eventually make something awesome of it.
It surely would help if residential high-rises were finally allowed, though.

Cool. Workers will wake up tenants of the nearby brand new student residence at 7 am, so them lazy are not too late in class.

Looks like a future sci-fi tower. And I love it.
