Translation here below!

The hotel new building at the city hall road 3-5 was approved by the office for district center. Owner, investor and operator is after information of the authority the Spanish enterprise Batalla. Details to the project want to present office for district and investor in the coming week in Berlin. The four-star house with the name " Barcelona" has presumably 480 beds. It is established behind the cinema Cubix, opposite of the shopping centre Alexa. On property was before the multistoried building of the GDR Ministry of Health. It stood for many years empty and the building ruin had become. By November 2007 up to the spring 2008 it was torn off. Property is about 2500 square meters large. The new building is established to Schumacher after plans Frankfurt architect's offices cutters +. It is to consist of 50 meters high buildings with 14 floors and a sechsgeschossigen Querriegel to the Grunerstraße. The investment amounts to more than 60 million euros. 2010 should be finished the house.
Planning took more than four years. An underground tunnel in the underground caused difficulties. Originally the Spanish hotel chain Sol Melia wanted to operate the new hotel. She withdrew herself 2007.

I really not that great fan of that setback but the base I do like very much.

Was this the proposal for the hotel on Gruner strasse? Looks like the office block E3 plans for Alexander strasse south?

Tempelhof is closed ... when is there going to be a final decision about the entire area?

Even a zoo is an option:

SCHAUMANN COMPLEX , POTSDAMER PLATZ

Schaumann Development has acquired the last building site at Potsdamer Platz, heralded as the new heart of Berlin by urban developers, politicians, artists, architects and Berliners.

Potsdamer Platz is going to have a 68,000 sq.m. residential building block, complete with a luxury hotel, quality dwellings, offices, shops, a fitness center and a gourmet restaurant.

This new village in Berlin will merge business, housing and lifestyle in one of Berlin's most central and attractive neighbourhoods. And the location is not accidental. Nowhere but Potsdamer Platz do new ideas, thoughts and architectural solutions combine with a lifestyle that unites business with culture and recreation.

If you want to escape the bustle of city life, go for a stroll in Tiergarten, play golf, take a boat tour on the canals or take the U-Bahn. At Potsdamer Platz, everything lies literally at your doorstep.

The innovation, vision and design that epitomises Potsdamer Platz shines brightly through in the new award-winning Sony Center, where shopping, exciting experiences and technology are placed against an architectural backdrop that accentuates all Berlin.

The Schaumann Complex will reflect the beautiful lines that converge to create the architecture of the square. But Schaumann Development is also keen to add new ideas and open up unprecedented opportunities in the area.

Therefore, the project will become a village in Berlin, integrating business, housing, hotel and lifestyle with dynamic, contemporary architecture. At Potsdamer Platz you can live in an exclusive apartment, work in a nearby office, dine at excellent restaurants, get fit at the gym or go shopping at any number of shops, or travel elsewhere in Berlin easily, simply and quickly.

Berlin has taken its rightful place as one of Europe's cultural metropolises, with people flocking to see world-class art, galleries, theatres, opera and architecture. And the city’s three opera houses, eight symphony orchestras and wealth of big and small music venues give people of all ages plenty of choice.

Berlin is, of course, also one of Europe's largest fair cities, hosting fairs that feature industry, agriculture, tourism and technology, not to mention Berlin's famous film festival, held at Potsdamer Platz and attracting visitors from around the world.

Shopping is another boon, not least at Potsdamer Platz. The new three-storey shopping arcade and the Sony Center bring you the latest fashions, art & design, technology and whatever else your heart desires. Berlin also has hundreds of antique and flea markets, all holding out the promise of that ultimate find at an unbeatable bargain.

It's been recently announced that the Pergamon palais and the Fehrbelliner projects have been cancelled in the meantime due to the financial crisis!

It is hoped that another developer can be found for the Pergamon over the coming months. Orco, who have cancelled the Fehrbelliner project have stated that this will not affedt the Leipziger platz project which will commence construction in spring of 2009!

The former Bechstein piano factory at Mortizplatz is to be converted into a new building for artists, architects etc! This is good news as this area is very blighted and run down!

Oops it's to be a creative department store to offer approximately 250 architects, craftsmen and artists a place to develop!
