Point goes to Multimodal over LVDW on the previous page, btw.......lots of developable stuff in and within about 6 blocks of Loop over next two cycles......Downtown Chicago's only about 2 centuries away from being midtown Manhattan today.......and, btw - guess where they're still going bonkers building today - that's right - midtown manhattan.....

^ We're talking specifically about new Class A office. Are you arguing that Wabash is a more desirable location for this than a Clinton or Jefferson address?

I've noticed over the years that he doesn't bother to read what he is responding to on occasion.

Meanwhile I drove by the 30 story building they are putting up at Aberdeen and Van Buren which is moving along quickly and starting to get out of the ground. Wonder when Related will start their other 30 story tower on a vacant lot West Loop? Or will Blue Plate move out first? Perhaps Field will start their 48 floor tower next? But yeah, the lots West of downtown are not going anywhere soon...

I have a friend who works for Blue Plate, they need to get their new space ready before they will move out (new space currently U/C at Ogden/Fulton but probably not done until late this year).

Apparently Pizzuti signed a contract agreeing to wait until Blue Plate's new space was ready. They might miss the crest of the apartment boom... Then again, they didn't even get their zoning until last November.

Not sure if directed at me - I didn't say anything about Wabash sites for office.....that was multi (think he mentied he wasn't thinking office-only)...

What I am saying is that there are a lot more potential office sites east of the expressway (for sake of argument let's say Dearborn is the eastern boundary of target area) than LVDW seems to think, and it will take minimum of a couple additional cycles for all these sites to be built on.....good rule of thumb would be whenever LVDW makes one of these excessively exuberant claims about the pace of (re)development parcel shrinkage/the number left/the time it will take for them all to disappear, etc - a good rule of thumb is too double or triple the number of parcels left/add a cycle or two/tack-on 10-20 years,etc....

I wonder - if Tishman were to land a large enough first anchor in the coming weeks or months: would they consider going back to the ~750' version as opposed to the ~700' version? My gut at least tells me they would indeed......we'll see.....

In this case, 50 feet really would make a difference in the building's visibility, especially from the river. 780 would be even better.

^^ the addition of height would be a nice bonus but I would just be happy to hear about an anchor tenant.

They are still moving dirt around on the Southern part of the site, North lot is still open.
