^^ well, never mind on the above. Renderings do show a band on the east elevation.. as does the construction cam. They installed the first panel with the band yesterday around 2pm. http://oxblue.com/open/clarkconstruc...iverpointplaza

I think the band seems out of place now, but will look fine when the tower is finished, don't worry.

I noticed the West band yesterday. It actually is a nice little flare on the skyline. Reminds me of N. Tesla's electric experiments, or a WiFi symbol.

If you look very closely, the band actually seems to be open at the top like a large gutter. Perhaps it is intended to prevent large waterfalls and avalanches from the angled section.

Landscaping along the river walk is starting to fill in quite nicely. Is the raised plaza supposed to have landscaping?

This is an early rendering but I think it's still very very close to the final design:

Anyone know with it's very visible position at the river confluence is there going to be any special lighting for this one at night?

Maybe an "eye of sauron" theme or something?

Given that 21st century Chicago never puts lights on their buildings no matter the significance or location, I doubt it. Would look nice, though.

Ok my bad... One Museum Park? When was the last building with a drastic lighting scheme since Two Prudential and 311 South Wacker? Maybe 300 N LaSalle on the occasion it turns on its crown. I'm not saying its a bad thing and we need to look more like Shanghai at night but I personally like the presence CBOT, NBC Tower, 2 Prudential give at night. Though, it can be overdone, no doubt.

Dramatic is one thing but to say "never" is another. The Legacy, Trump, One Muesum, 300 N LaSalle are all lit to name a few, several recently completed lower profile projects have lit crowns as well.

We absolutely do not need to look more like Shanghai at night or in any other capacity. Chicago is about class not crass...

The portholes on the north half aren't that bad, but I'm glad the evergreens don't have much to grow to cover the other half.
