Yessir! The foreground is Brentwood Village, the entire mall/strip mall area will be redeveloped into towers over the next decade or so. In the mid-ground on the right is the currently under construction University District neighbourhood, which currently has a couple massive mixed use buildings under construction, a few multi-family residential projects complete, a 15-story Alt Hotel about to start construction, and includes the Alberta Children's Hospital. The Northwest Quadrant of the city is seeing a massive population density uptick

Ummm.. no they don't. They need a new arena!! saddledome is a horrible arena and watching games there not a great fan experience. WHat they should do is expand McMahon stadium.. and add more seating like they've done at Toronto's BMO field. I don't see the point of a new stadium for a league with a measly 9 teams.

I've always had a great time at the Saddledome. I've never heard anyone call it a horrible experience either. It's shortcomings really have nothing to do with watching games. It's for other events.

McMahon is a disaster. It's unfit for any major sporting events.

I wouldn't call it a horrible experience either.. it is however a horrible arena. As a huge Flames fan who has watched a number of games there, I can say it's not the best experience for the fan.

CFL isn't major, but I suppose for hosting other events mcmahon is not the best.

Lougheed/Burquitlam

There are either under construction now or proposed at least 40 highrises to be added in this area. Lougheed Town Centre alone is planning for 23, with phase one under construction now. Its going to be quite the skyline in 10 years

thanks Klazu for the pic

I'm not a fan of hockey so I don't really know the nuances of fandom. The view of the game was really good. The food was okay too.

If projections for Metrotown come true, it will have tower density and heights equivalent to downtown Toronto. Projected (2041) to be 67 000 people living in Metrotown in an area the size of the West End (.85 sq miles).

I think you're underscoring just how insane things are in downtown Toronto. Three 20 storey tower have a greater tower denser than one 60 storeys so it's always a possibility. Height is less likely. 20 to 30 FAR with population densities in the 100,000 to 200,000 people per square kilometre is becoming the norm for infill proposals in downtown Toronto. It just begs very tall buildings. I don't like this either.

Mississauga , Vaughan, as well as suburban areas like Humber Bay Shores in Toronto are more representative of Metrotown, Brentwood and, Lougheed skyscraper booms. Markham maybe throwing their hat in the ring soon too.

The Saddledome has it issues and needs to be replaced, I'm sure it will. McMahon however is an absolute shit hole and a disgrace to this city. Its embarrassing when you compare it to any other CFL stadium in this country.
