plaza pocket park

Does anyone have a rendering of what we can expect in the plaza/pocket park between 1919 Market and the Blue Cross Building. I noticed they have a backdrop a la Commerce I and II, and the area is clearly under construction, but I have no idea if we are to expect a food court? another large screen TV? a fountain? or a half-acre of pavers and seasonal plantings? Does anyone know?

Also, across the street from 1919, it looks like interior work for the new Wawa in the Stock Exchange building is beginning (1900 Market)- there's a fence along the outside where the Wawa should be.

I really like the glass and steel design of this building. I know the shortened height has been well talked about, but I think the design itself would've added tremendously to the skyline. It compliments the Murano perfectly. It's a very stylish building.

If anybody with a camera can swing around ... When I passed by this building the other day the sidewalks were all open and we can post the final construction update.

To each his own I suppose. I agree with all the folks up-thread that the design of this thing is particularly tacky. It's such a confused jumble at the base and though the splotchy glass pattern is less horrible than it appeared in the renderings, it's still pretty bad. The only way this compliments the Murano is by way of contrast between two polar opposites, though I guess both buildings suffer from the same problem of an absolutely horrible street presence on their number street sides due to blank garages. Oh well, they can't all be winners.

Fantastic pic! But I don't see 1919 Market. I guess that was the point huh? I don't have anything to add that hasn't been said before. This horse is long past dead.

I'll echo the disappointment that this one isn't a few hundred feet taller but I love the density and cavernous vibe it's helped to create along Market in this photo.

We all wish it were just 350 feet taller.
Oh well, not going to complain - we have a filler that will maintain the Market Street canyon of towers.

Agreed. Oh well, still a few more empty blocks to plant something even taller!

I am not an engineer, but I don't see why they can't do something like the green wall that is going up here on the FMC parking garage.

If I remember correctly, the word was that there were no aesthetic touches placed on the garage because Brandywine owns the airspace above the rail tracks in the triangular space that sits between EVO, FMC and the Garage and Schuylkill Avenue. I think the plan is eventually to build something in front of the garage. May have just been a rumor though.
