I went by the site last night at 10pm and there was a full crew working and 2 cranes were operating. There were steel black masts for either extending the cranes or the 4th crane. It looks like the core is now 12 floors tall from P5 on up.

Use that came to get real updates for the Wilshire Grand.

http://www.earthcam.net/projects/webcor/metropolis/

The Metropolis cam shows you only a corner of the Wilshire Grand Tower, but you get at least some updates about the height. (just zoom in)

More pictures from closer down in the construction site, as to what they are currently working on.

The only difference you might see with the core is the formwork on top might have been raised on the far end and new rebar cages added above the existing top rebar.

The only difference you might see today with the core is the formwork on top might have been raised on the far end and new rebar cages added above the exsisting top rebar.

Wilshire Grand from around 8:00 p.m. last night from 7th and Figueroa. As sw5710 mentioned, the rebar and formwork have jumped on the east side of the core.

I was told about a month ago that it would be the beginning of September and they need the core formwork to be up and out of the way enough. P5 - P3 parking levels are under construction and P3 is near the top of the current columns.

^ Ha! I took that shot and didn't even notice that. Same ole pimp. Ain't nothin changed but the limp.

On another note, drove by this morning and they have installed the base and cab of the fourth crane, the one attached to the core. I'd imagine the arm will be installed today, and it should be up and running tomorrow or the next day after inspection. Things should start to move along a little quicker after that. At least one would could reasonably assume.

Good to hear that the 4th crane is going up now. Thanks again.
