Foundation coustruction for this one has me intrigued. As they have a smaller footprint of terra firma to work with for the foundation of this tower, are we talking maybe about extra deep/large caissons and/or extra thick mat??

This was far more than an hour each day this week. However, today was much quieter. They're either done with those angled beams or taking a day off due to the flooding.

8' diameter socketed caissons and a big mat for moment resistance IIRC.

Also remember you can rewind time on the construction cam: http://oxblue.com/open/clarkconstruction/150nriverside

Can we put a link to those in thread first posts when there are cams for projects?

The flooding might only get worse today. There's a big fat squall line crossing the Mississippi right now coming in off the plains...

That's not flooding, that is the river being - a river.

The riverwalk work was underwater as well, leave your materials below the water line, stuff happens.

Which has left me wondering, will some of the riverwalk platforms end up being flooded every time we get a heavy rain?

No. There's already river walks on the river. River doesn't get that high...in heavy rains they just open the Lake Michigan locks. Only reason this site got a little flooded is because they lowered the river wall to put the angled beams behind the river wall. They were welding the wall pieces today to raise the wall back up.

They've been drilling for a few days and it looks like they've struck water...

Digging a hole is digging a hole. Picking up a check - however hefty - is picking up a check. This is not a Bulkheadpage forum. Right now all that's going on at 150 is site prep. But, the 150 skyscraper should be U/C on Skyscraperpage soon enough.

It will be a blast watching Wolf Point (West), 150 and River Point all going up at the same time later this year - and the last 3 blocks of the built-out Riverwalk (LaSalle to Lake) joining the fun next Spring!
