L.A.'s Parks

It often seems to be misunderstood that L.A. has few parks. L.A. does have few parks, but it does have significant ones, just not that many urban ones. Here are some of L.A.'s parks:

Elysian Park, near downtown L.A.:

Great thread DaveofCali.
I lived in L.A. for 5 years and wasn't aware of a couple of the parks.

Whenever I see photographs of Echo Park
I get a "film noir' type of feeling/ennui/vibe.
I'm not even sure why.
(One reason might be the rowboat scene in the movie Chinatown)
I believe that was filmed in Echo Park. I could be mistaken.

Again, thanks for posting the photographs.

great job! it really is a big misconception. we have huge parks, just not a lot of neighborhood parks. thankfully that is changing.

Thanks for posting... we have beautiful huge parks, but I know individual neighborhoods are lacking a little bit.

Cool to see some of LA's natural side; I certainly don't see it too often on here, if ever.
