Wow excellent shots!!!

Sooo... since this thing is so far along, could someone maybe make a proper diagram for this one in the building page? I did one about a year ago, and it's on the diagram, but it's just terrible. Now that it's UC we should have a nice diagram of this one up. Hopefully someone can/will do one

does anyone know what is going to happen with the neighbouring govt building to the north side of the hotel? its adjoining exterior wall is still tarped off. i find it odd they didnt seal that up before the structure started being erected.

A local restaurateur has landed what is surely one of the most sought-after locations in town.

Bobby Mottola, owner and face of Pizzeria Gusto in River Heights, has confirmed he and a group of investors have landed the lease for a 4,000-square-foot space in the lobby of the Alt Hotel being built across the street from the MTS Centre.

The opening of both the hotel and restaurant is still about 11/2 years away, but Mottola's plans are nearing completion. The name is still up for debate but the street food-oriented concept isn't.

"We're going to take the best of the street food from the hot zones, like the taco carts in Mexico and sandwiches from Cuba, all the things you can get walking down the street (in tropical countries)," he said.

I put this in Winnipeg Construction but thought I should add it here too. Glasshouse part of the development is building a display unit on the main floor of City Place next to the lotto booth.

Likely moving it to the street?

Don't think so, I noticed when they took it down as well, however it is back up as of yesterday. I will see if it is still up today after school.

The tower crane will only be used for the construction of the Hotel Tower. The base building will be completed with the crawler crane.

It is currently back up with the Jets flag hanging over Portage Avenue. I wonder if they are legally allowed to extend it past the edge of the site?

I think the website says they have 200 suites. So 25% in the first day. Hopefully they'll reach the 50% (or whatever) they need to proceed in short order.

I counted 62 red dots when I walked by the display suite before they opened today.
