Actually I was thinking about the construction speed of VanZandt or whatever it is called. I just slipped and typed ZaZa. Probably my subconscious annoyance with the project.

I never liked the name either, but they operate two very slick and deluxe hotels, one in Dallas and the other in Houston. Both are considered among the best in their respective cities. I think the original owner/developer was an oil man out of Oklahoma. The name must have appealed to him for some reason.

This little tower is creating quite a density stir. When I walk passed by this area it feels pretty urban. I don't know if anyone else feels that way about this spot. I'm really digging it.

Here are a few shots from this past Saturday (8/2).

The building will appear very prominent along 6th street.

^That last pic looks like it could be from the 90s with the dude with the long hair and Nike shirt, and the other guy with the tie dye shirt. It's a little slice of Slacker. haha

I'm stoked about this hotel. It's supposed to have a rooftop pool, and you just know the views are going to amazing from up there being that this building sits in the middle of the entertainment district.

Nike guy looks like he just stepped off the set of Clerks. A little Randall Graves/Jason Mewes thing going there.

Agreed... I really like the location of the Hotel. The exterior design is definitely a step up from the Hyatt Place and Hampton Inns

Looks like the facade will be going up soon. Hopefully it will match the later renderings and not the earlier ones.

Great shots. How close is it to topping out? I don't want it to get too much bigger because it blocks out some of Frost Tower from this view.

I believe they're working on the columns for the 15th floor. So they have 4 more to go. It'll probably reach the bottom of that first setback on the Frost Bank Tower from Keith's photos, plus the mechanical penthouse which will be in the middle of the building on the southwest corner.
