This is a gorgeous tower. I hope that this building and Extell’s 570 Fifth precipitate more development in the 40s of sites with obsolete office towers like 530 Fifth, 531 Fifth, 555 Fifth, and 579 Fifth.

So glad we are seeing less and less "blue glass" buildings. A lot of good stuff, and more on the way.

How can a tower that's almost 400 feet shorter have roughly 20 more floors?

Easy. Different floor heights. It's not the floor that determines the height, but the height of each floor.

Love it.

The detailing makes it extra special...

I think that this looks much nicer than Extell’s proposals for 570 Fifth. This tower is stunning.

Same firm. Their attention to detailing in some of their more recent towers reminds me of some of SHoP's work. I'm loving it.

That colonnade at ground level is going to be amazing. And I really hope the backlight the last level or two of the crown at night.

In the presence of Vanderbilt and Empire, it better. Tough crowd to compete with.

Such a fantastic bidg. It has a lot of intricacies; would love to draw it. Only complaint is that it won't be as prominent in the skyline as I wish it could be.... but hey, its Manhattan.

Yeah, it joins a line of others like 53w53 that should be more prominent.

I want to like this building because the architects have gone in an unusual direction with the combination of Italianate and Art Deco.

While the Italianate arches coupled with the scale will make this a rather distinctive building, the overall effect seems too much of a hodge-podge. There are extenuated arches at the

base, then it goes with more squat, then it has a mass of squat which then becomes briefly attenuated, then the windows go squat for a large area, then they begin to attenuate, then

squat, then attenuate, then attenuate more ....

It is visually aggravating.

I do sincerely hope it isn't as annoyingly discombobulated looking - as the illustrations make it look - when it is finished.
