I wouldn’t be surprised to see Moxies Bell MTS get a Reno in the next 2 years as I’m sure Northlands will likely want all their related properties downtown looking too-notch when TNS is complete. It hasn’t been touched in 12 years and is showing its age.

Awesome pictures of TNS....except isn’t that last one from 1968?

That one tower is really chunky from that vantage point. Looks great!

Thanks for the photos. Some interesting perspectives.

They're a bit dated as lots of the orange coloured cladding is on the podium now.

I keep wishing they were taller

but these are really sharp, nice looking buildings. That whole area will feel completely different especially when towers 3 and 4 go up.

I really like the way they've done those little "fins" on the plaza side – great effect that's different from every angle. A lot of buildings have done that here recently, but they're not deep enough to have much of an effect (or look good). They got it right here.

Also, that orange/rust cladding is going to do a real nice job mixing in with the arena, power building, cityplace, and RWB residences when it's done. Nice touch.

I mentioned it in the Construction thread but thought it'd be good to bring up here as well...

CentreVenture is moving to 141 Bannatyne this spring. Anyone know if that space will be part of more grand (unknown) plans for cityplace? Maybe the skywalk access to TNS will open up the north side with windows to match after all?

To be honest, I could see True North either wanting to increase the size of the Skywalk (east-west) over Graham between the arena and cityplace as it's a nightmare around there on game days. At the very least, maybe move the box office to the mall to free up more room?

I wish they were taller too the square has virtually zero impact on the skyline.

^ There isn't a huge skyline impact with TNS, but it's a huge turnaround for a block that was mostly surface parking for the last several decades.

^yes I agree and I would take 10 more of these over one large tower, but it’s the skyscraper geek In me that dreams for another 10 floors on the residential building to make it pop on the skyline.

^ Yeah, if they had stacked the apartment and office tower on top of each other a la Edmonton it would have really had some vertical flair, but hang in there... we'll be getting our new tallest soon enough

Even if the residential was another 4-5 storeys it'd make a big difference, haha. Looks kinda funny to me that they're pretty much the same height.

*Dreaming* Wouldn't it be nice if in a few years, TN decides they don't want to waste possible revenues and fills in the CTV parking and empty space here maybe by extending the CTV building or building a new one. Then you have 4 corners of usable space with Rudy's (even though windows covered), new building, Hull's replacement, TNS all on one corner...
