My St. Louis visit :: Part One : Downtown STL at sunrise

Beginning Thursday, I road tripped across the state of Missouri from my home of Kansas City, over to St. Louis. I even met up with JivecitySTL, who referred me to a good hotel. Here is the first collection of my photos from the two day stay.

classic tosspot style "urban twilight" treatment of downtown stl, fantastic!!!

i see you grabbed some shots of the "GarageMahal." (theres supposed to be a large historic building there, but mayor slay "slayed" it...sort of). its still a great photo of the Old Post Office and it's immediate environs.

Thanks for posting! I must say that I've never seen the city look so lifeless. I get kind of a bleak feeling from seeing these.

thats pretty early in the morning, though, before most people who work downtown are wrangling in the parking garages (im usually on illinois 3 watching flares at the massive conoco philips refineries...a wonderful future stl-area photo op for tosspot!!!)

nice

do any of the St. Louisans know if there are renovation/reuse plans for these buildings? They look pretty awesome, if a little worn

The Ludwig Aeolian building (center) is currently under rehab into... you guessed it-- lofts! Don't know about the one on the right, and the one on the left is in use.

cool

hope that right-most building also goes the way of its neighbor (with the momentum downtown, i wouldn't be suprised)
