If they raise the height I will "eat" my humble pie.
I've already had my 'second tenant' idea shot down. There is none (so far). Heard that any height increase is a combination of engineering issues and ego, and that the extra height if any will be added to the residential section.

The extra height was hinted at when they announced the building. Plus you knew with a billionaire building the thing he would want to go for the title of Tallest in Canada outside of Toronto when he was within a couple floors.

They wouldn't even have to add the floors, just build a tall spire and that would do the trick.

So forgetting the conjecture, what is the height for this building?

252M is AFAIK, as authoritative a height as we have for now.

No it isn't, rumours are rumours.
The thread should read;

From EAD site
http://www.ead.ca/ead/uploads/news_i...ug-25-2014.pdf

Designed to be a LEED Gold Certified building, this mixed-use office, retail and residential project will span approximately one million square feet. The 746 feet high (224 metres) tower
62 floors.
Stantec has posted on their web site as well.

fatboy is correct. Rumors are rumors. Until a rumor can be proven as a fact, it is just a rumor.

Technically, yes. But you missed the context.

Please explain the context. To me it's a concept of reality vs fiction. Keep it simple and straight forward based off of facts unless proven otherwise. That's all I am trying to convey.

An Edmonton based Moderator changed thread header.
Boys, the site really loses credibilty when thread titles are based on fiction not fact, change it when there is proof. i.e.; news release
All the factual news about this tower is, it will be 224m, 62 flrs.
If every rumour out there was posted as a "Thread" this site would crash.
Edmonton should be thrilled they are getting this beast as it is!!

FWIW this 252M 'rumour' has been independently confirmed by more than one insider who generally know what they're talking about and have been proven correct time and time again.

But whatevs, change the thread title again, won't break my heart.

^ Shoring and excavation for the site is underway. Development Permit for the tower itself hasn't been secured yet, let alone any foundation work.
