I think we need to look at those photos, see what we have lost in our cities, and work to bring back the vibrancy you see in those photos.

Those photos show the the age when downtown was king, not Metrotown Burnaby, Square One Mall, Carfour Laval, etc.

They show the life our cities enjoyed, so lets bring that life back from the edge.

Nope, I'll mention it too. I've spent time there working on plans to clean up the mine tailings. The Cambrian looks exactly the same today as it did then. And that photo of Lombard has a nice shot of the office building I work in. Think I'll print that one and hang it up.

Not personally, but my previous employer had some contracts there to do environmental sampling and geotechnical work on the earth berms of the tailings pond. So I know a bit about it.

well my dad usly does the contract every spring to do start up. so i know it quite well
the treated water pond


in the tailings pond theres a bizar algie in places never taken a sample of it but i gues i should the next time i am up there.. i mean as in its growing in this shit water of ph 2.93

Great photos. I have always loved views of North American cities during those years. I agree with what most have said here. It leaves you with a sense of longing. Although it would be time consuming, it would be nice to see all of those shots with the present-day shots at the same location just to compare.
