The first non sports event has been booked for the Moncton Stadium.

Nitro Circus Live is coming next summer. It's kinda like a choreographed X-Games extravaganza with lots of fireworks.

Personally, I think this was a brilliant idea. The weather would have been perfect for the concert too. I would have loved to have been there.........
It will be shown on CBC TV this evening (Friday Sept 25) at 8pm.

After losing 1.1 million dollars after the last 2 years, Grand Falls Windsor announced the end of the "mega-concert" Salmon Festival. I think they're going to to back to a smaller, local-music type of event from here on in.

Residents are wondering now if the money that would be spent on the concert could be used towards road repairs

I seen it on TV, and found it strange that they kept putting up a headphones symbol, and taking it down. I'm pretty sure everyone knew it was with a pair of headphones if you where there, and I don't think I'm the only one who said to himself. "I could just put music on, and it would be cheaper."

They lost 1.1 million. They they over estimate how many people would show up for the concert??

I don't remember the numbers for last year, but this year they had about 6000-8000 people at the show. They usually anticipate 18,000-20,000. It's a huge pile of money to talk about, especially for a town of only 15,000 people. That kind of money isn't easy to find.

That's kind of the whole point. Salmon Fest was always a party 1st and a concert 2nd. It's only the last 5 years that they've been trying to do the mega-concerts that the acts have really mattered.

I remember when people would flock to GFW for a weekend to see a show with a line-up with the likes of Blue Rodeo, Tragically Hip and/or Bryan Adams. They used to do really varied line-ups too, with an older act playing earlier in the day and something catering to the younger crowd in the evening when it just turns into a party. Half the draw was to just go camp at Red Cliff, drink for 2 days, and see what trouble you get into. It was basically a right of passage, I don't know anyone that didn't go out at least once.

ECMA's are coming to Saint John in 2017

Quote:
It looks like the ECMA's are returning to New Brunswick. At an event on Monday in Saint John it was announced the East Coast Music Awards and the week long celebration that goes with it will be held in the Port City in 2017. The East Coast Music Association says the week of activities will be April 16th to 23rd that year.
I had to look it up, Sydney is hosting in 2016. (And the ECMA wiki page is about 3 years out of date)

Looks like the City of Bangor is having better luck than Moncton to plan concerts as of late have you seen their summer lineup almost one great concert every week. I wish the city would organize those types of concerts.

They have the Darlings Waterfront Pavillion. It's an actual venue, with seats and a stage. They need that in Moncton.

Looks to be the same line-up as at Atlantic Fest in Paradise NL on Sept. 3rd (Selena Gomez, Flo Rida, DNCE, Shawn Hook, Francesco Yates)

Good to see the Moncton Stadium getting in on the action. They can probably fit 20,000 or so in there......

According to CTV News this evening, the stadium (as configured for this concert) will be able to hold 22,000 people.

Ticket prices will range from $75 to $200 depending if you want to stand or for premium seating.

*VOTE* Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach

Hi, not sure how much time is left to vote but Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach are doing a Canadian "Coast to Coast" tour and are letting the fans decide which cities they will be going to. It's down to the finals and Moncton is still in the running.

http://demand.paparoach.com/

Please vote even if you don't like the bands
