Don't know enough technical information to explain why exactly that is.

In any event, the daily progress is evident when you see it every day so I don't think you should jump to the conclusion that there is any kind of issue here. It's just really slow.
This is what it is: Scannapieco's luxury distinction, which started with 1706 and will undoubtedly continue with all his future towers, is to give each unit (each floor) the ability to completely alter design and layout. In the clearest form this is best represented by all plumbing not being "stacked." That is to say a tenant can say "no I want my potty over THERE, next to the fireplace." And there should be no reason to deny that.

Also the large slab concrete floors really do create a sense of privacy for each unit, on a vertical plane.

Just poured the 5th floor...floors 6-12 are fairly typical and should rise at a pace of a floor every 4 or 5 days...then building steps in again at 13th floor, but should remain at same pace after that transition floor is poured...top of the building is quite intricate and will take a bit longer...
Human Scale is absolutely correct..each floor is customized and therefore sleeve location for plumbing stacks, electrical floor outlets, depressions for shower floors, etc. all take additional time to lay-out and coordinate...In order to satisfy buyers, late changes occur in spite of established deadlines...

So has anyone else noticed that they changed out the tower crane on this one. Looks like they replaced the white one with a red one, I thinking the one they removed from the Bridge project. Thoughts as to why?

  • Crane failure?
  • Better crane replacement?
  • They were on a waiting list for an improved model?
  • The crane has a better motor?
  • The crane is newer?

Who cares?

As of two days ago. No. Considering the current height though, that's sure to change soon, possibly a matter of a days.

When the DNC was in town, I was watching on TV and could see the development, yet the hosts only cared about the cheesesteak.

Give me a break!
There are skyscrapers being built all around and not a word.
Are we just skyscraper geeks?

The cheesesteak isn't even the best sandwich we have to offer.

Incidentally, I prefer John's Roast Pork.

National media types dont know anything or care about any city not named NYC. Half those journalists probably wouldn't know how to get to Philly from NYC in spite of it's proximity.

Carson Daily (MTV, The Voice, NBC, etc.) - his facial expressions of "discovery" over the "cheesesteak" and how to eat it was a display of sheer ignorance.

Nothing's more exciting than a beautiful skyline!
