Hey I found this cool map site which shows a crapload of developments for Downtown and the surrounding areas. Not sure if its been mentioned in the past, but its a cool resource. Clicking on the icons reveals rendering, and info.

MAP: https://www.seattleinprogress.com/

Zooming out reveals dozens upon dozens of projects for the area near the airport, North Seattle, and West.

Yeah, I've seen that map before.........its pretty amazing. It kind of explains the backlash development is starting to see in the city. When Seattle booms, it booms big time.

I like the looks of this. Looks a lot like one or two in Houston. Nice.

Better yet, projects like these have dramatically less parking than they would in Houston, and it's usually below-grade.

So much of the country builds giant above-grade parking podiums, with huge parking ratios. A project of this size will often take a half block (of our size block) vs. the quarter block this one has. I'll avoid the diatribe about parking podiums.

Yup. Not a bad looking tower.

The ones I am hoping will go into construction this year are these three under Approved/Proposed on the first page:

Icon Tower
Skansa
8th & Pine.

Still Pining for them.

For those not following along, this is part of the three tower Amazon campus. The below-grade foreground is where the bio-domes will sit. Obviously, the rising core behind it is one of the towers. The second of three to rise so far.

So we're up to 13 buildings of 440' (or a few inches below per height limit) for Downtown Seattle in this boom, one completed and 12 underway including one in demo. Three more have said they're starting this spring/summer. Another 20 at least with some sort of entitlement activity since 2014. Many of those are at the 440' height but one is 849' and another might be in the same range or a little taller.

I'm wondering if the Potala tower has started? Some random equipment on the site, but I haven't seen a recent photo in a while.

Nothing on their twitter for now even with the tabloids stating u/c started months ago. Out of all the developments, looking forward to Rainer.
