Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman Opens in Argentina

The company also announced the official appointment of Agustin Maddocks, former rooms division manager at Hilton Buenos Aires, as general manager of the upscale Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman in Northern Argentina.

Hilton Worldwide announced the opening of the new-build 103-room Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman, the brand’s first hotel in Argentina. The company also announced the official appointment of Agustin Maddocks, former rooms division manager at Hilton Buenos Aires, as general manager of the upscale Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman in Northern Argentina.

“Tucuman provides a great opportunity for tourism, with its diverse offering of adventure, gastronomy and cultural attractions,” said Danny Hughes, senior vice president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America for Hilton Worldwide. “The opening of the Hilton Garden Inn represents our commitment to tourism development in the province, and our desire to become an active member of this welcoming community. Agustin Maddocks is the ideal general manager to lead the team and our efforts at our newest hotel in Latin America.”

With rates starting at US$91.00* per night and forming part of the award-winning, upscale, yet affordable, hotel brand that delivers high quality and value, Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman forms part of the Central Tucumano mixed use complex and welcomes guests to experience the gateway to Argentina’s North. Central Tucumano, a project developed by the company Vizora, was designed to revive the spirit of the old “Mercado de Abasto” market and an area that was fundamental to the commercial development of the province for decades.

Known as The Garden of the Republic due to its vast natural beauty, Tucuman is less than a two hour flight from Argentina’s capital city of Buenos Aires and the Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman is approximately 25 minutes from the international airport.

The Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman features 103 guest rooms, all decorated with local culture and history in mind. Each room features unique decorative pots, specially designed by artisans from Calchaquies Valley, as well as original prints with themes depicting the different indigenous groups of the area. Rooms also offer calming and comfortable bedding, LCD high-definition Smart TV, easy-to-set alarm clock with MP3 connectivity, a spacious work desk, and a “hospitality center” that features a mini refrigerator and coffee maker.

Before heading to their rooms, guests are welcomed to a lobby featuring a Green Wall made of expired Palo Santo trees, native to Northern Argentina. In an effort to protect the region’s natural resources, no live trees were used when creating the decorative wall that invites nature into the interior of this new Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Tucuman.

“We are thrilled to bring a Hilton Garden Inn to Tucuman, and reinforce our commitment to welcome travelers to our award-winning brand in new destinations,” said Adrian Kurre, global head, Hilton Garden Inn. “We look forward to contributing to the growth and development of the region, and offering visitors the newest accommodation option for their stay.”

Dining options include a contemporary full service restaurant overlooking the pool and offering freshly prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel also features a bar and the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry® shop with a selection of delicious readymade meals, beverages and snacks.

Recreational facilities boast an outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, solarium, and a complimentary fitness center and spa facilities featuring cardio and strength training equipment and large locker rooms, as well as a dry sauna and indoor Jacuzzi. Guests can also enjoy Central Tucumano, the restored complex featuring a convention center, shopping, dining, cultural attractions, theater and access to the historic Mercado de Abasto market.

Travelers to the Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman also have access to more than 8,500 square feet of meeting space, including a more than 4,000 square foot ballroom with capacity for 400, and signature Hilton Garden Inn brand attributes such as complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour business center.

The Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman participates in Hilton HHonors®, the only guest rewards program that allows members to earn Points & Miles® for the same stay and redeem points for free nights with No Blackout Dates at more than 3,800 hotels worldwide.

Mexican Soft-Drink Bottler Arca Continental Boosts Argentina Production

MEXICO CITY--Mexican soft-drink bottler Arca Continental SAB (AC.MX, EMBVY) said Thursday it plans to install two new production lines at its Tucuman, Argentina plant that should double its production capacity in that country. In a first stage of investment the company is spending $40 million to upgrade the facility, while injecting an additional $50 million into the operation over the next five years.

The capital infusion will double the plant's production capacity, to 120 million unit cases per year. The company said one of the new lines in Argentina will be among the largest and fastest in Latin America, with the capability to process 60 thousand glass bottles per hour.
