St-Jacques, pedestrianized with a mini-tram running from the courthouse to Square Victoria.

Quebec Istiklal.

This is going to become a fantastic terminated vista in 2-3 years when Victoria sur le Parc and BN HQ are completed. 628 St. Jacques gives us a nice preview of things to come. Hell, even 900 St. Jacques might make it into this view.

Montreal has so many urban qualities but it doesn't really tend to overtly celebrate its 'bigness' so to speak (in a North American city context), whether by design or not.

It's a street scene like this that will really add that visual heft. Really can't wait.

The st-jacques Canyon is quickly going from early 20th century has-been to 21st century contender for the best one in Canada.

In this same POV, you see 628 Saint-Jacques, then VSLP, BNC and then 900 Saint-Jacques. I don't have a model for 900, this was a vision but it's basically the same volume, for visibility...

the gravitas of canyons replete with old masonry buildings is something that is vanishingly rare in Canadian cities.

It is sad that so many downtown canyons are little more than blue glass buildings.

Sackville Street canyon in Halifax. Skye will be going up on the left behind the foreground building (Maple) and in front of the one visible under construction (Jade). There is 1 parking lot left to be filled in, in the foreground on the left.

Victoria Street has had a hell of a transformation in recent years....the St. Michaels patient tower expansion and the new Fleur (black tower in background) Condos tower has beefed up the view from this vantage point...

Mybad...I confuse both streets because of St. Michaels...yes, Shuter is further north. I'm not incredible familiar with this area.
