I really like this throwback 60-70's look. It's so much better than the mid 2000's wavy sterile espresso wood paneling with strips of steel/granite everything/tan tile nightmare that my building has in it's common areas Although, that will be in vogue again someday too.

From today. The attached file has some drawings and info about the sales center office at 507 West. I'm assuming this is for the 5th & West tower:

There were workers doing what looked like clearing out the TPA building today.

This project has been somewhat ignored since they announced it would be getting underway this month. There are only five days left in this month. Has anyone noticed demo or site prep?

Yeah, they would have to get that out first per-state law, and then have it inspected before demo could start.

I love how sleek this one is. Very excited to see it go up. Too bad its not 100 feet taller.

I've been pretty harsh in expressing my frustration with height recently but with this tower, not so much. The proportion and size of the building fit with its height and I think it will make a great addition to that area.

Fencing and signs are up

People are already calling the loss of the TPA building "a travesty" and I sincerely wish there was something that could represent just how hard I rolled my eyes

The approved site plan has been released. But there are no new elevations or details.

I want to see the other side of this. Hopefully not to much beige stucco... but i like the tower and think it will look good in that spot.

They must have added the elevation files after you posted that, Hill Country. They're listed there now.

They're files 034 and 035.
https://www.austintexas.gov/devrevie...erRSN=11056288

458 feet 9 inches to mechanical penthouse roof.

435 feet 6 inches to main roof.

422 feet to the highest occupied floor (39th floor).

61 feet 9 inches to the 6th floor podium.

Those numbers are the ones measured from the southwest corner of the building at West Avenue and West 5th Street which the rendering below shows. You can see that staicase in the building elevations, so for sure that elevation is above street level.
