Apartment complex delays force 300 USU students to scramble for housing

http://kutv.com/news/get-gephardt/ap...le-for-housing

My wife works at a local hotel and many of these students will be living there until they either find another place to live or this building is finished.

These guys finally got this resort going. Nice to see another one up there for people to go to. Maybe this will get Beaver motivated to make their mountain better because this resort is going to take the casual skier away.

I also hope someone builds another resort or 2 in Utah county, hobble creek and south canyon are perfect locations. Even Spanish fork canyon has locations that would work fine.

I agree Orlando, very nice. I like the many different element applications, the materials and their shapes, color tones and angles. Very tasteful.

The most important thing about Al's is the new gun range built in! First private gun range ever in Cache Valley! But when I'm visiting the parents I'll still go up the hills to shoot only because that's 2 minutes away.

Other things happening up north

There's also a number of new street fronting (Main Street) retail pads associated with this project, which is nice. Plus one is now a Denny's ...the first one I've ever seen not next to a freeway. I didn't think it was possible.

Utah's newest ski resort has had a great first season, expanding.

CHERRY PEAK RESORT — Cherry Peak Resort is wrapping up a successful first ski season with $5 skiing on Saturday and plans to continue the fun with a 600-foot waterslide this summer.

The USU Botanical Center is in Kaysville right on I-15 and that's almost 10 years old.

The Weightlifting facility on the North end of Maverick Stadium was finished about 3 years ago. It's bigger then Utah's and BYU's they also built a Basketball/Volleyball Practice facility right next to the Spectrum.

But yes USU has had quite a bit of new construction going on. The library and Business building have had full remodels and additions in the last 4 years.

USU Library

Maverick Stadium will open its new press box this year. USU has a Media event in August for it, but I don't think it will be fully finished (paint and carpet). I'm sure they upgraded a farm some place too.

Some very attractive projects going on up in Logan at USU. Thanks for posting the pics. Really cool to see Merlin Olsen's name on the stadium.

Not sure the point of the large, open windows if they're just blocked with trees.

Huntsman School of Business expansion - http://www.utahprojects.info/Project.../Huntsman-Hall

Because windows let in natural light, while the trees can help block direct sunlight from coming in and heating the place up to much.

Ok, this happend out of no where.

I mean, that is one big ski area. I've hunted up there once and it is one place you will get lost in. If this works, this could make building a paved road between Liberty and Avon a priority.
