I've heard it's a three story office building. Designed by 360 architects, but I have no other details.

I've read it will be an extensive renovation with retail on ground floor. Someone suggested Cows would move in to expanded space on the ground floor.

This may be a long shot, but I turn to you guys for help. I'm looking to leave St. John's for employment as a chemist. I'm just wondering if anyone has heard any positive/negative things about BioVectra. They seem to be a viable option, and having been in Charlottetown before I would not be opposed to moving there Thanks!

If I am not mistaken were they not voted into the top 10 best employers in Atlantic Canada?

About all I heard about BioVectra was that they were trying to block a small apartment building from going up near its plant for safety reasons. I suppose its a good thing that they take the safety of their neighbours seriously. I'd give them a shot.

Thanks guys. I was out of town and missed a career fair where these guys were recruiting. I'll send along my CV, and who knows what'll happen after that. If things go well, you could have a new PEI project thread contributor

New Signage on Dominion Building

Went up on October 26, signage for Cox and Palmer on the roof of the Dominion Building on Queen Street, Charlottetown.

Huge "Dominion" sign going up on side of building. Might have looked good in the render...

Sir John A MacDonald contemplates the completed "Dominion Building" sign.

Dominion sign glows from underneath at night. Looks very "gotham city."

Heard the Holman Hotel will close soon...that's terrible news for ChTown...how long has it been open? A year?

Its a great structure to have in place, and really beefs up the skyline, however it will quickly be named a "white elephant" and most people will despise its existence unless a buyer can be found...shame really

Update: BioVectra hired me! I'll be in Charlottetown in a few weeks. I look forward to becoming a contributor to this thread once I become acquainted with the city.

Good news! This thread badly needs a quarterback - you've just been appointed.

I'm from PEI originally but no longer have any family in Charlottetown and only get over 1-2 times per year, so I'm pretty much out of the loop. I look forward to your updates.

Well if this helps, read in the news (i don't remember where, I loose track after a while) that the Holman hotel has a prospective buyer. No names mentionned but at least they are talking to someone. I suspect it will associate with a banner group...four points maybe??

Now, Charlottetown, this is what I told Marty:

And enjoy Charlottetown. It's a very small but near perfectly beautiful city. And it's still a provincial capital and a relatively popular tourist town, so it offers far more than its population would suggest.

I have a cousin (and her husband, and two daughters) there. He's a doctor, she's a nurse. They love it. And they lived in New Zealand, Australia and a few other places before choosing Charlottetown to settle.
So you be good to him. Show him the welcoming, fun city that my cousin loves so much.

I spent a drunken weekend there before at UPEI for a conference. I really enjoyed the city and its feel. I know it's small, but I'm actually okay with that. It makes up for that with it's insane amount of character. I can't wait to take another stroll downtown

The pillars are actually supports for what could be a future SECOND hotel tower in the future. This is coming straight from a management staff at the Delta. Thats the plan, in 5-10 years they hope to build a second hotel tower.

New law office at the Corner of Queen and Dorchester

Steel frame and elevator core going up at law office at the corner of Queen and Dorchester. In the distance you can see building wrap as restoration continues on APM project. Project will be the new home of Carr, Stevenson & MacKay law firm.

As anyone heard if the Sea Treat is still changing to the burger shop. Well hope to hear what is going on in Charlottetown. I also see the Orange Lunch Box moved downtown to a new home. There is lots going on. any more news on what is going out by Toys R Us and the new Sobey's area. Well all the best and hope everyone has a Good Christmas.

I am pretty sure it is Enterprise Car Rental moving beside Jack's. From what I hear the building they were operating out of on the Corner of Queen and Brighton rd. has been condemed and they were forced to move.

Further more some other projects in progress or getting started are:
  • New Markhan building
  • PEI Brewing Company on Kensington rd.
  • Andrews Lodge expansion
  • Tim Bank's house on King st.
  • Dow's apartments on Falconwood dr.
  • Taylor Built apartments on garfield st.
  • APM strip mall on John Yeo dr.

That's all I have right now

Good, that building where enterprise is looks like a $h*thole.
Is Tim Banks house actually a big enough project to enclude on here haha? Also what about the new elementary school in Chtown?
