Are they behind schedule to open before school starts?
I remember talking to their leasing manager a while ago about if they would finish in time. At the time they had confidence they would. They said that they had some 3 weeks cushion between finishing and first move ins. Otherwise, they said, it would cost them $50,000 per day in hotels for all their residents.
Hmm this one's iffy for Fall opening, you'd expect them to be a bit further along. The Pointe on Rio came across this issue and had to pay for residents to stay at Dobie or a hotel for a few months.
A project for that drilling site at 2513 Seton was submitted for AULCC about a month ago. But there's no mention on the height other than "multi-story".
The day they demolish the Escala Apartments (front and center in that pic - a couple buildings to the left of the blue and red and white building), I will be there to watch and pop a bottle of champagne. My first apartment out of college....and what an awful experience it was. Yay for progress and increased density!

There are permits pending for the total demo and excavation of the Star of Texas Inn. This is by 21 Rio and within the area zoned for max height. I don't recall what project this is for.
We want to wish all of you so much luck in all of your future endeavors. Thank you for being part of University Towers’ 50 year history (Nancy has been here for 20 of them!) and we can’t wait to see what standard in west campus housing is set next!
