120 Willowdale Avenue, North York SKALE Developments

A decent looking Wengle proposal.

Only a couple hundred feet from a similar height midrise on Sheppard , so hopefully the city doesn't drag their feet with approval.

This is a revitalization and expansion of the old NB Museum, located on a bluff overlooking the Kennebecasis Bay just upstream from the Reversing Falls. The old NB Museum had been relegated to a research and artifact storage centre and depository when the exhibition space was relocated to the uptown core of Saint John in Market Square several decades ago. They have decided to relocate back to the original building with this expansion.

Colour me impressed!
Absolutely love this !

BTW - Are the “Reversing Falls” related to “Magnetic Hill” ?

536 St Clair West | 131.39m | 35s | Diamond Corp | Arcadis l pre-construction

This one grew in a recent submission. A little better than way too many of Arcadis/IBI’s copy and paste attempts.

True. Like the parliament buildings in Ottawa are a good example of being done really well. Faux gets a bad rap

This firm is capable of producing quality neo traditional designs. Instead we get this thrown together, graceless, McMansion quality crap. It's a nice reprieve from spandrel window wall neo modernist glass designs. It's no better on the architectural front. That is faux; something liked, different, equates to being good. Evil. EVIL!!!!

Wengle does contemporary as well.

This is the way to do it. Looks like hand laid brick (could be precast brick)... but it's perfect imo.

Love the detailing of the brick carried right down to the street. As opposed to the usual slap dash overhang and double story wall of glass.

Like those Calgary proposals. Keep up those Calgary updates as we get next to nothing on this forum in regards to Alberta despite being, by far, the fastest growing province in the country.

Looks good and, if built, should turn out like the rendering too.

Nice Toronto mid rise.

Don't fret. 1840 will still be proposed in 10 years time by which point 50 storeys will suddenly be appropriate height and density.

The balcony placements on the narrow face ruin the decent looking terracing on the last one

Proposed Eglinton could already give Sheik Zayad Road competition ... heck, Noem's Line and I don't think it's potential is halfway known. Shoulda went full subway with 4 tracks.
