^ Gosh, I wouldn't dare being that harsh. The upper chunk looks okay, it's mainly the balconies to the lower part that are annoying.

How I sum it up:
Lower half of Aura = Among Toronto's worst tall buildings
Upper half of Aura = Among Toronto's best tall buildings

Funny, I like the constrast. Had the whole thing been a smooth-skinned tower, it'd have been rather boring.

For its height, the tower is remarkably banal. Looks like so many Mississauga condo towers, only taller.

Overall, Aura is a plus for Toronto. Can't get around that the added density, retail and foot traffic will help to make the area a bit more lively.

A Restaurant in Auras base opened today, looks quite nice. Called "Reds Midtown" Stupidly they don't take advantage of the corner entrance however, they have the doors locked saying "use our entrance on Gerrard"

It'll look good from a distance, but the uneven balconies really are deplorable.

Holy crap that is ugly! Hopefully people will think the top and bottom parts are separate towers... it would soften the blow a little.

I just don't get why we put up with so much architectural garbage in Canada. I realize this can be said for most countries in the world, but Canada really seems to get the worst of the worst when it comes to modern architecture. Looking at the almost complete Aura, I'm so underwhelmed....scratch that, visually offended by what I see. I'm almost at a lost for words.

yup. It does have quite the presence looking north from Dundas Sq. You have to take the whole building in though; height, looks, location. Not just the blemishes.
All said and done, I'm on the positive side for Aura.

That is what makes this building look so terrible. It looked off but once that was pointed out it could not be unseen. The mass and height are great but the building is a mess.

I think the Aura is pretty nice. Not groundbreaking by any measure, but it serves its purpose on the most massive scale. I'll try and grab some pictures today.

As I haven't for a while..

This picture is from Nov - 4th. I'm heading into the core a little later will get some updates
