Not to be negative, but it is important to recall that the original version (1155 ft) and the second version (1250 ft) (both identical) are a somewhat different design than design #3 which is what we are actually getting- which is more conservative in the use of volumes. For instance, the lead in photo on punchydj's construction update (above) is of the 1250 ft version. What we are getting is still pretty neat, but not only is it shorter, it is less aggressive in the use of volumes (particularly the upper half of the tower). It's a shame because this is in my opinion the best and most cutting edge design of all the new crop of buildings. This is the one tower that truly deserves be the tallest in NY.
