Yeah I don't know if Austin will be getting any soon. However there will be taller buildings coming I'm sure (600-900 foot range) in the not so distant future.

The photos are great, especially the Colorado Tower. Just a though; when I think of San Francisco, it is the Trans-America Tower I visualize; the Sears tower in Chicago, the Empire State Building in NYC. Wouldn't it be great if Austin could have such a building, one so unique it would identify our City for years to come.

The Frost Bank Tower is the office tower that defines Austin. No, it's not the tallest, but it will remain in the heart of many Austinites as Austin's most iconic office tower.

Frost Tower is iconic to Austin, thisyear marks the 10th year anniversary since Frost Tower has been completed. I remember when it's crown lit up the first time, so crisp. But now it's not as inviting to see as it was 10 yrs ago.

Austin also has the capital and UT Tower which serve similar functions.

Frost tower is a gem, but as has been stated umpteen times...it should have been 100 ft taller and thus would be forever the "statement tower" we will surely see in the future. A new taller tower with just as nice of design will be built, or so I hope!

I'd like to see a new classic go up. I love the crop of buildings that are finishing up (or U/C) but we need something that has a brilliant crown....not just a slant roof. I would love to see an 800ft tower with wind turbines or some kind of next lev green feature perched up top

I have always seen the Frost tower as Austin's signature tower cause in some way the tower resembles the capital "A" for Austin. It must've sunk in subconsciously or something and just naturally fits in for an Austin tower.

I also feel that in the coming years Austin will have more iconic towers but the Frost tower will never lose its appeal or its mark as Austin's first signature tower. Look at NYC 🗽 for example. There is the Chrysler building, Empire State Building and now the Freedom Tower.

Funny that San Francisco is mentioned cause I felt there really wasn't any other signature tower besides the Trans America Pyramid, unless you include the Coit Tower and the Ferry Building. But those aren't real skyscrapers, I think. The now under construction, Transbay Building will probably serve as the second signature tower.

I always said that I feel like there's a great transition of style as you move across downtown...Spring and Bowie take several design cues from each other, as does 360 from Monarch..and will play off of Seaholm. Continuing, I believe Fifth+West will feed into GreenWater 1, Colorado's blue with Frost and the Austonian, Marriott's brown bounces off both One and 100 Congress, Four Seasons' pastels to the Rainey buildings and so-on. I think it's becoming, intentionally or not, a fantastically coordinated and harmonious skyline.

Also, speaking of Frost as iconic, I've always felt that Frost was like the Chrysler Building of Austin. It may eventually be overshadowed by other taller or more prominent towers, but its status as an icon of the city is and will always be uncontested.

I'm new to Austin, so I'm probably not the best person to be answering this, but from what I've noticed, most of Austin's newer buildings are 29+ stories. There are a few proposed or under construction around 20 stories, though.
