Yes, thats the lower part of the hill towards the Hot Metal Bridge. Its a ghetto shithole now but Im afraid that those buildings and most of the Hills urban gems are mostly doomed as most of the properties are either abandoned or owned by slum lords.

Amazing thread. You captured the real deal.

Welcome to the Burgh. It's a city woven of cool unique hoods all with their own style. One who enjoys exploring urban areas will like it.

Thanks for the eye-opener, Photolith!
St. Louis, and Cincy are probably the least Midwestern looking Midwest cities, so probably no. St. Louis is very eastern looking, and Cincy's core is the antithesis of Midwestern urbanity. The Mid-Atlantic influence is in effect.

Completely agree. I've seen a lot of nice photo series of Pittsburgh--I dare say it is a photogenic city--but few, if any, that have done as good a job of capturing the range of sights and feelings you get from seeing it in person.

Amazing Pittsburgh and amazing lesson of photography, photoLith! Thanks for sharing. Your night shots are really nice.

Watching so fantastic pictures, I can´t avoid thinking in Pittsburgh as one of my next destinations to visit. If I have someday the chance, I´d like to enjoy that pretty city.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

The photos are totally raw and amazing. I'm saving a couple of those photos for future wallpaper on my computer. You have some amazing skill and I love the unique perspective and angles in which those photos were taken!

Wow, these are some amazing shots! I wanna go to there!

You'll be within driving distance of Toronto, too, you should come up here and exercise some of your photographic skills all over this hard to capture city.

Oh I will for sure. Toronto seems like it would be a fairly photogenic city.

I didnt post this earlier but I visited the Fort Pitt Museum and the original fort Pitt at the front of downtown Pittsburgh. This building is the oldest surviving building west of the Alleghenies in the original 13 colonies. Its called the Fort Pitt blockhouse which was built in 1764 and miraculously it survived 250 years of industrialization and urban renewal destruction. All of the early history of Pittsburgh is incredibly fascinating. Hell, Pittsburgh is pretty much where the Seven Years began, which most people dont really realize. Some historians, along with Winston Churchill thought the Seven Years War should really be considered the 1st World War.

Your color on this one is fantastic. It's certainly not an angle that a native hasn't seen a million times but this one has such a sexy glow.

And I most definitely love all the Southside rooftop angles. Dense rooftop pics are hallmarks of some of the greatest cities in the world.

I cant wait to visit NYC, Baltimore, Philly, and Cleveland. So much shit to photograph. Here in Houston theres not jack crap for an urban photographer. Theres about enough for 6 months than after that theres pretty much nothing new to take photos of.

No doubt there are tons of amazing places for urban photography all over this region, photoLith. Philly is sublime for photography, and Baltimore is as well (just be sure to tour around with someone who's very familiar with the area!), and of course NYC... Cleveland has some great areas as well, I'd recommend a MayDay tour for that specifically!
