Well then 167 floors - 85 makes it a mere 82 floor habitable with very tall spire. I would class is a communications tower, not a building.

Im all for huge ass buildings but this building just seems wholly unneeded in its location. Build this tower in downtown Shanghai, Malaysia, Panama City, it being in the middle of a desert just seems wasteful. But whatever, it will still be impressive when its done even if its top habitable floor will be lower than like 15 other tall buildings.

The bunker design and the fact that these kind of colossal(over 600 meters) towers are all pyramidal with more than one third of the height made is a spire.... truly, but truly make not sense!

I like the fact that there's no other high-rises around it.

It has an Eiffel Tower sort of effect, with it's design it stands perfectly and best on it's own.

Wouldn't it be possible to generate huge quantities of electricity either by capting lightnings or simply because there may be a difference of voltage between the base and the top of this tower?

True, anything could happen, but there were a lot of nay-sayers when it came to the Burj Khalifa as well.

Traffic congestion brought about by the development is apparently low on the agenda. Mind you only 80 something floors are habitable. A record for the tallest spire awaits.

Burj Khalifa looked like this when it was being built too, and it ended up being in the middle of a pretty amazing area when it was all said and done. Not the most transit-oriented, but I don't think that's the purpose of this development.

I sure hope someone checked the building versus the approach to the runways at the airport. The one thing you don't want to encounter on the way into the airport is a giant tower off the starboard side.

Didn't the Burj Khalifa require a massive bailout to finance it (and therefore get renamed from Burj Dubai to Burj Khalifa).
