I think pretty much all of us are in agreement there. For both this thread and the Stantec thread it's really just two guys raking up all the mud.

We are both over just a million in population, and both of these building will be great additions to our humble cities. Just be happy to be living in one of the greatest places to live.... Alberta. Not many places in the world are developing like both Edmonton and Calgary.

Yeah, and all this nonsense over 10 ft. Seems like two guys fighting because of insecurity. It doesn't matter where you build the building, it's the beauty, design and the presence that is admired. I'm looking forward to the potential developer competition between the two cities, can only be good for us skyscraper enthusiasts. Maybe we won't have to drive so far to see a supertall in person.

Looks like the core is getting close to 20 floors now. In the picture you can see the footprint is not that much bigger than the Bow Valley Sq towers, and at 56 floors but only 1.2m sf, its going to be a very sleek, slender building - a nice counterpoint to the incredible bulk (albeit, bulky greatness) that is Bow.

My perspective is, this building and Stantec will each be over 80% of a supertall

Had a lot of driving around the city with work this week. I can now see Brookfield from Chinook Mall area as well as Max Bell Arena, and the cranes from Briar Hill area.

Brookfield Place - 247 meters - 56 storeys

The curve of the corners is starting to get quite pronounced...

Wow, how embarrassing to read some posts from fellow Chuckers on here...Its kinda like a kid saying over and over that his new bike is nicer than that kids new bike/
Edmonton is hardly in a position to gloat about a tall tower since it has always been a mediotric player when it comes to tall downtown buildings..Even Wikipedia says Edmonton's skyline was dormant for decades...Its nice to get new buildings downtown in the Chuck and Stantec will probably reign as tallest for many years in Edmonton but my guess is Cowtown will eclipse Stantec within a decade so then The Chuckers can rig for silent running once again.

^^^ Carcass: I don't think anybody would call it "Gloating".... about some forumers posts about Stantec's building over Calgary..... Just a little "civic pride"!

^ Definitely a bit of pride on this side, but it's really just one or two forumers stirring shit, I think most Calgary forumers know we're not all like that.

Yup, mainly just two people. One seems to have a hate for Calgary, and the other a hate on for Edmonton.... outside of that, things seem fine in these threads.

Re: Glazing. The funny thing is, just last night I was looking at pics wondering when the glazing was going to go up... I'll be downtown today, with my good camera...so more pics on the way.
