I agree...and it's a good thing since the shape is more boring in comparison to others.

Nice pics.

I never liked that they're building tiny little three-story townhouses in the middle of downtown. Thankfully 90% of the project is midrise/highrise.

Also, the affordable housing on the other side of the alley got switched from mostly wood to steel construction, due to rising lumber costs, which has allowed them to add another three stories and 35 more units.

Just a couple more floors of cladding to go. This is so unexpectedly appealing to me. I guess I never took into account the high quality of the materials they had planned to use. It has turned out to be a very attractive building, top to bottom.

I agree considering the high rise portion but the low rise portion of this development is hideous and cheap in that yellow color.

The low-rise portion of the block is a different affordable housing development (for what I believe is called "very low" income) by Mercy Housing and a different architect - only financed by the developer of the tower. I think the unbuilt portion adjacent to the Schwab building across from Clementina will be the same. Affordable housing is usually cheaper construction. FWIW, I'm guessing that the "hideous" yellow with orange accents is meant to refer to the orange low-rise across Folsom St. but that's just a guess.

Lumina has a grocery store opening on the first floor. Similar to the one at Tenth and Market.

a shot of the low-rise row going up 'behind' the main development

and some greenery has gone in along the sidewalk next to the mustard-colored element that mdsayh1 doesn't like. (I'm not thrilled with the color either, but think it's a small enough splash in a sea of other things that it doesn't hurt too much, just a little variety.) I really hope this area does end up feeling more pleasantly walkable when everything settles down, as is the idea.
