Will the glazing be the blue in the first page of this thread? or the green/red combo in the high-rise thread?

Good question. During OHC the manager of Optima was talking about the new tower and claimed the glass would be identical in color to Optima I. It is possible the design has changed or this individual was misinformed.

^^ ^ Ditto. The green and red is bold in the best way and even a little badass......I love it, and would be really disappointed if that's been changed....

If it's the same douchey guy that I encountered, I'm not sure I'd fully trust his intel. Although, interestingly, he also said they were scoping out locations for a possible third tower in a way that would allow them to enhance the skyline. And it wouldn't necessarily be in Streeterville.

they have kind of broken through the back side of the space, with columns almost to the traffic circle on upper illinois

These appear to have been anticipated ... for the lowrise in front of the towers. Simply installed on top of the existing roof.

Is that a copper ground wire running down the center of the rebar form? Is that common, do all columns have a ground wire?

Yes a ground wire. Not all columns, but several on a building of this size.
