I wonder why for Leonard they decided to add the glass on some portions rather than work down to up?

Probably got 2-3 crews installing windows at different zones simultaneously. Acceleration to get it closed in perhaps.

Leonard in the distance. It needs some company. Too far away from the cluster. There is a patch or a little void of sky between the central mass and Leonard, and that's not acceptable. Something must rise to fill that patch.

Was the crane collapse that occurred this morning associated with this building? Sounds like from the descriptions it may be...

No, the crane collapse is at a different site, at West Broadway & Worth. It was a demolition crane, for an upcoming condo project.

Don't know, but from one of the pics I can see it was not a tower crane.

that's just one block to the southeast. i wonder if the crane collapse will cause any delays in construction here. i heard they are closing several roads in the vicinity during cleanup and investigation

More detailed article linked below. The crane had been working on AC units at 60 Hudson, formerly Western Union, now a telco/Internet carrier hotel.

This tower is awesome. Also WTC3 and 50 West in distance.

nobody can accuse big bad Leonard . .
of having nothing going on upstairs . .
the rollicking penthouses are in ruckus-mode full-swing . .
the daredevil-crown's doin' a jig . . scary Jenga pieces are missing . .

Thank God that . . at least in the lofty digs . .
they lost the shtick of attaching cracker-balconies with magic-glue . .
you know . . the ones they used on the lower middle floors . .
fastened to the building with those flimsy little pin nubs . .
wafers barely able to support themselves with a flower pot . .

But then get-a-load-a those thick chunky concrete slabs way up there . .
gee whiz . . from one extreme to the other . .
there'll certainly be no hard-wood floors sagging beneath onyx armoires . .
in Leonard's aerial deluxe suites . .

ah for more faith in engineers . .
as a giant crane crashes on Worth St. . . one block away . .
shake that bootie ! . .
