Merry Christmas everyone. I am still here. I have just been really busy with life the last couple of years. Downtown last night and grabbed this shot and thought I would share.

Man, really wish they retained the glass from the previous design. Otherwise, this is a great addition to SLC. Looking forward to seeing the crown lit.

I also liked the weaving effect of the previous glass design, but I understand why they changed it. When mixed with the very large presence of it's Performing Arts Center, which shares a conjoined footprint, the two looked quite uncomfortable together. Hence the need to meld the two designs. I think with the unique top, (especially when backlit), and the suspended from the center, column free glass pedestal bottom, the tower portion will strike a very elegant statement on that corner.

I say this in part to how it's turning out. The glass appears to be pretty cheap compared to what was originally proposed, and even from the current rendering. Not very reflective. I like all the other changes made. The Arts Center is more distinctive, yet still ties in nicely with the tower -- previously it looked more like a parking structure for it.

construction, the Central Business District (CBD) saw steel reach
to all 24 floors of the 111 Main building. The 440,452 sf building is
estimated to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2016. The
building is currently 42% pre-leased with significant activity that
ownership believes will lead to the building being almost
completely pre-leased when delivered."

Also, in late December I heard back from one of the people involved on the design team for the Boyer 151 tower......

from the design team member:
"Boyer has had success in leasing their other two buildings in the Downtown this year so they are hopeful to get going in 2016 with the new tower. It would be good timing for us."

Also, my company has been contacted by an out of state investment firm from California, that will be entering the Utah market for the first time. They plan to purchase an existing large apartment complex downtown (200-300 units). It will be an all cash offer to purchase the apartment complex. The seller has accepted their offer on the property. We will be assisting them with their due diligence & title process on the apartment complex property.
