Houston is very different from all other US cities & most cities all over the whole world in that regard. Where else can you seen 300 to 900+ foot tall skyscrapers right next to a school, church, XXX porn store, gas station, & residential neighborhood?
Atlanta. But even then, the zoning seems to be more of a formality. Houston, having no city-mandated separation between residential and commercial land uses is in a league all its own.
