^^^^

At least with my giant PC screen I can pretend that this is my virtual penthouse view.

People say Central Park views are nice, but I think that its over rated, A view from this perspective is way better. The harbor, and midtown. The type of views that the Shvo Tower will have.

^ Yeah, having a penthouse view where you actually look down on the WTC, is just too good to be true. I myself would prefer the Shvo Tower ... just imagine the harbor views.

I'm pretty sure the design will be changed, although I don't expect anything flashy since Viñoly is the architect.

Another day, another good news for New York supertalls!

Re: 111 West 57th Street

http://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/BS...de=ES917143780

Quote:
Building Height: 1397
Building Stories: 80
Dwelling Units: 55

So 1,397ft to the highest occupied floor!! Since this tower has a huge crown it could very well break the 1,500' mark!

There are two development sites on that block, so it could be either. I don't see how NY YIMBY concludes it's the south side of the block.
Looks to me like the tower rises from the north half of the lot south of 29th, with a plaza for the air rights bonus on the south side of the lot, like so.

Wow, looks like the ESB will lose its prominence in the cities skyline, crazy. I like it.

NYC is starting to look like the city in Mirrors edge. An amazing compilation (Parts 1 and 2). Now I want to see the compilation which includes everything 100 - 499 ft.

I suppose it's also possible that the mystery tower incorporates airrights transferred from the 2 churches on the neighboring blocks, which might be permissible of they are landmarks.

Possible new 100-story tower (Park Lane; 36 CPS). Looks like limestone ...

This baby could rival Nordstrom!

EDIT: YIMBY reports that renderings are outdated. No info on the height. We shall see.

^ Thanks, I'll try my best keeping the thread up to date. The skyline is changing at an incredible pace. 432 Park Avenue single-handedly transformed the Midtown skyline! New projetcs keep popping up as if there were no tomorrow.

The future is here. Awesome! Im most excited about Nordstrom Tower. Its amazing that the NYC skyline hasnt changed much since the original World Trade Center was there but finally we are getting new skyline defining buildings bringing the NYC skyline into the 21st Century.
