*Cities Of The Games

I was looking a lot of threads here, with many great pictures, even of places that i did not know before seeing those threads. But an idea crossed in my mind; to do a thread of the most famous cities of the games. Probably this way, also the people who does not know them have an opportunity to know them here.

By the way, you can post your pictures of your cities too (providing that it is a city of a game):

Liberty City (from Grand Theft Auto 3)

Vice City (from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City)

Los Santos (from GTA: San Andreas)

San Fierro (from GTA: San Andreas)

Las Venturas (from GTA: San Andreas)

Dessert (from Gta: San Andreas)

City Of Lost Heaven (from Mafia)

City 17 (from Half Life 2)

That is where Patrick got the name Staunton from. One of the Islands in Liberty City.

Yes, and Staunton is named like that because of Staten Island. I don't know why they named Shoreside Vale to the low residential zone...

Yes, Staunton is based off of Liberty City, mostly Staunton Island.

If it wasnt for Liberty City, Staunton would probably not exist, or look the way it looks. 5 of the city's buildings are actually modeled off buildings from GTAIII. Also I got "Torrington" and "Fort Staunton" from GTAIII to use as city district names.

Yes; and if you see the highest building of Liberty City, you'll see that the real building were actually 2 towers (like the World Trade Center), but the creators (because of 9/11) joined the two towers to form just one.

the Cedar Grove suburbs in Shoreside Vale takes its name directly from a New Jersey Community...but that doesnt really help the big question of why its named Shoreside Vale...

Hotlinking is not nice, don't do it, mmk?

Anybody got pictures from True Crime Streets of LA and True Crime New York City? Those are two very underrated, untalked about games, but True Crime NYC is one of my favorite games of all time. The Getaway wasn't bad either.

Yeah, agreed. The Getaway pictures are absolutely breathtaking. In 5 years from now I bet most games will be so realistic, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and a photograph, and I mean that literally.

Those Gateway shots are absolutely incredible. I can't believe how real those graphics are. I mean, I say it all the time. I remember thinking how realistic games like The Legend of Zelda on Super Nintendo looked. But this...I literally, for once, don't think they could make it look any more realistic without it being an actual live shot. Amazing.
