That is a pretty bland piece of crap for a pretty bland part of Downtown. But it will have ground floor retail.

Will the wall actually tilt backwards towards the top? That is what I see in this rendering. If so, I kind of like it, especially with the spire(?) thingy tilting back also.

I have a feeling that this will turn out better than the rendering.

Yes, it is a spire. The 140 foot height includes it. The mechanical roof height is 127 feet. The main roof height is 103 feet. The top floor is 89 feet.

This one started construction quick, and without any press.

That's because St. David's Foundation bought the project from The Dupont Group earlier this year and they are building it in order to occupy it.There was no leasing required, so no marketing or announcements. I think they are ditching the 'Capital Commons' name too.

With the exception of anything related to the medical school, hospital administration buildings generally don't get much press. I'm just glad it's finally getting built. Dupont Group originally proposed this building in 2007-ish. Long slow road.

Actually, now that I've seen the elevations, the way they describe it is a "fin". So not really a spire. It should be interesting, though. The parking included within it is pretty bad, but the facade details itself are pretty good.

I prefer the earlier rendering. I still want to know whether the facade on the front slopes out from the top, or does it just look that way in the rendering?
