That little stretch of 8th Street is one of the most "San Franciscoesqe" in terms of how steep it goes up with the buildings on either side.

^I was just thinking the same thing. Even the building styles sort of hint at it.

I am so happy this is happening. That stretch of Nueces will feel so dense once it's finished. I almost rented a basement apartment in that old building adjacent to the tower....it was the oldest spookiest 2 bdrm I'd ever seen....I was a fool not to grab it!

Here's one of them:

Nice. This has to be one of the best planned buildings for its location. Two rooftop decks taking advantage of the views. The view of the Capitol up there is going to be spectacular. And the placement of the building how it really forms to the lot is well done. It's really going to contribute to the street vibe.

I agree and am looking forward to this one even though it's only 22-stories. The top roof top deck seems to be a new addition based on previous renderings.

Wow, that will definitely be my favorite parking garage in town. I would say my NEW favorite, but I've never had a fave until this. What's the plan for the floors above the garage, amenities?

Judging from the balconies I'd say those 3 levels will also be apartment homes. I really love it when a building has a large residential base with a different facade....much like NorthShore. You see that a lot in bigger cities that don't rely on building in 8 levels of parking.

Great pics, Mike. Thanks. That has to be one of the more interesting and small construction sites for a tower of this size in Austin.
