They have not started digging yet. They are really close though. There is what I would roughly call a TUB or basement that has angled supports on the walls. They are working on that now that the junk from the whole building has been hauled away.

I think its just a lucky shot that only one car is parked there. I walk by all the time and have not noticed any development to the lot.

Here's the "new" rendering. It's definitely a downgrade from the original.

It reminds me of some of the buildings in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. I'm not a fan. While the facade isn't terrible, it's a giant boxy building with no style. At least the parking garage is uniformly concealed within the tower, somewhat.

As fond and nostalgic as I am of the 1980s and most of the things that came out of it, I would have preferred something a little more 2017.

It looks like Everytown, USA. Nothing unique or inspiring about it.

They should put giant horns on either side of the building. Really class up the joint.

I wasn't thrilled with the original design but it was better than this. I wouldn't be suprised if we see yet another downgrade before all is said and done lol.

I found an FAA filing for the tower cranes that says the tallest the cranes will be is 401 feet. This is of course for the purpose of air traffic safety.

https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external...39236841&row=2

This other link also lists the building's height as 270 feet.

Interesting. I wonder if this one is cracking 300 ft then. You know, this is actually a pretty significant project considering it will be taller than 5th and Colorado, Shoal Creek Walk, and the Westin which I feel like have been talked about much more.

Slowest project ever. See the round foundation re-bar along 7th St? yeah they might go up now.
