2020? lol. Wouldn't that be nice.

One of things that may happen is more of this growth may get deflected to the suburbs or to the DT core/inner city neighborhoods. There are growing complaints in some neighborhoods about all the new construction. That may lead to the city spigot getting turned down.

I wonder how many townhouses and three-packs get built per year in Seattle...500 units, with only a minor pause during the downturn? Every Thursday land use bulletin has a bunch of them.

The Wattons donating land for a park is incredibly cool.

The Harvard Exit Theater on Capitol Hill has been sold.

Quote:
The buyer of the historic, 1925-built building home to the Harvard Exit movie theater is a Capitol Hill developer and real estate investor who owns some of the most interesting properties in Seattle’s inner city.

CHS has learned that the real estate investment company owned by Scott Shapiro, the developer who helped create Melrose Market, is purchasing the three-story masonry building that has been home to cinema since the 1960s.

Hearing tonight 12/3/14 on the project replacing the Capitol Hill post office.

Quote:
Unlike the station development, some of which will reach 85-feet high, the project planned to rise on the northwest corner of Broadway and Denny will be 65-feet tall, and will include 44 units, ground level retail and limited, four-stall surface parking accessed via the alley. There will be no underground parking for residents living across the street from one of the soon-to-be busiest public transportation hubs in the region.

There are at least three projects underway at Yesler Terrace. Two are east of Boren. Plus the south side of Yesler Way is demo'd, though nothing is underway there (future park and building sites).

Does the one west of Boren have a name/rendering?

I've been to some movies there too. I have hope that that new guys will do a great job in redeveloping the place. I could still have theater in the end, they haven't said yet.

OK I've messed around a lot with the first post. Check it out and let me know what I'm missing that is 5+ floors, north of Denny, South of I-90 or east of I-5.
